Intaglio prints, text, encaustic

Two intaglio prints with encaustic, lower work with letterpress text.
Both are on watercolour paper on card.

I like the sea-like qualities of woodgrain.  The quote "'The unbound all", is from 'The Nature of Things' written by Lucretius in the first century BC, he was referring to the universe.

Experiments with intaglio printing and encaustic.

I liked the grain on the back of my plywood boards and decided to print them.
I might layer other imagery over the top later.

Inspiration for these works came from decaying locomotives;
the one below is at Oamaru, it had spent many years under the sea.

Some highlights from 'Headland Sculpture on the Gulf' 2015

It's quite a walk around the headland on a hot January day to see all 31 sculptures.  We did the walk yesterday morning, below are some of my favourite works and a couple just of the marvellous views.  For more information see www.sculptureonthegulf.co.nz
